Lanzarote: an island sculpted by lava
The tour starts by heading to Guatiza and as we pass prickly pear cactus plantations, we’ll seize the chance to tell you all about these plants. We’ll make our first stop in Mala, home to the Cactus Garden, an amazing work of landscape gardening by César Manrique.
After the visit, the caravan will pass through Arrieta and Punta Mujeres towards Jameos del Agua and the Cueva de los Verdes cave. These two impressive tourism centres are also by Manrique. You can choose which you would like to visit—the price of the excursion includes an entrance ticket to one of them.
Continuing the route, next we’ll come to wonderful Caletón Blanco Beach. You’ll think you’re in paradise...of course! This is Lanzarote after all.
At lunchtime we’ll stop in Órzola, a picturesque white and turquoise village where you’ll have time to have lunch independently.
After this short break, we’ll set off again to Mirador del Río Viewpoint near Yé. The view of La Graciosa island is a treat for the eyes.
We’ll pass Máguez and Haría to reach Los Helechos Viewpoint where you can sample a selection of Canary Islands produce (optional) while you admire Haría and its lush Mil Palmeras Valley. Here the landscape changes from arid to fresh and green.
Las Nieves Viewpoint is close by and it looks out over Famara Valley and its lovely beach.
After enjoying these views, we’ll head to Nazaret, home to the Lagomar Museum, and we’ll end the excursion at the César Manrique Foundation which you can visit independently if you wish.
